ReedPop is seeking an Affiliates Writer to source and write buying guides for our deals site, Jelly Deals, and contribute content to our key websites Eurogamer, VG247 and Rock Paper Shotgun.
You will source and write articles on relevant products and packages for our audiences. The priority will be gaming deals like console bundles, TVs and PC hardware, but you will also find and post deals and guides on broader topics around lifestyle, culture and technology sectors relevant to our audiences readers, at all times with an eye on finding the best products at the best prices.
We pride ourselves on our deep understanding of our audiences and our reputation for reliable, industry-leading insight and it’s essential that our deals and buying advice lives up to these standards. The Affiliates Writer, under direction from the Commerce Editor, will create snappy, well-written and instantly useful product recommendations for our readers, and reach new audiences through search engine optimisation.
This is an ideal entry-level role for somebody with proven writing experience and a deep knowledge of gaming and consumer technology, who wants to be part of our central commercial content team contributing to a host of internationally-respected editorial outlets.
Responsibilities Include:
Writing several deal roundups on video games, consoles, tech services, and other products each day
Social posting multiple times each day on Facebook, Twitter and other relevant platforms.
Generating revenue through affiliate programs when users click and buy the products you write about
Researching interesting/unusual products that our users may find interesting
Writing guides on specific topics to help our users save money
Engaging in conversation with readers about deals and retailers
Tracking prices on products and researching redemption deals
Tracking the sales performance of products to see what our users are buying
Tracking article performance on Google Analytics
Being an authority on what a good price is and whether something is good value
Responding to readers’ messages and suggestions (growing the audience)
Experimenting constantly to improve your readership and conversion
Required Skills and Experience:
Prior writing experience, ideally in the gaming or technology field
Good understanding of search engine optimisation (SEO)
Knowledge on how to promote articles on social media
An understanding of the Gamer Network audience and how it differs across our sites
Knowledge of the current gaming market
Knowledge of current consumer hardware trends for gaming-related products such as TVs, sound systems and PC components
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Strong technical knowledge of current gaming and technology market
Experience in creating buying guides and affiliate content
Experience of Google Analytics
